Class Dojo: Our classroom uses Class Dojo to track behaviors in the classroom. This system works with our school PBIS (Dragon Zone Expectation) program to promote positive behavior choices and encourage students to self-monitor their behavior.
How it Works
Each student has a point tracker, labeled with his/her name. Each day begin with zero points, meaning they are at “Ready to Learn!
During the course of the day, students have the opportunity to move gain or lose points according to their behavioral choices.
Positive behavior choices allow the student to gain positive pointsl; inappropriate behavior choices will subtract from their daily total.
Rewards/Consequences are not issued until the end of the day, when students no longer have the opportunity to gain or lose points.
Dojo Advantages
Students are acknowledged for positive behavior choices
Students feel a sense of accomplishment when they make good behavior choices and have the opportunity to gain points.
Students who have lost points always have the opportunity to make better choices and gain more later in the day, thus they continue to stay motivated to make positive behavior choices.
When students have gained enough points, they will get to cash them in for reward from the reward menu.
